WhatsappThere is nothing new anymore about this protest. Donald Trump is the one who called out the mass media, and especially CNN for being a fake news network. It wasn’t pretty, and it seemed like Donald Trump was trying to silence CNN. But actually, he was right. Frankly, Trump’s treatment of CNN was a breath of fresh air, when he basically gave CNN the middle finger on prime time.
Because CNN and MSNBC have gone so far to the partisan left while Fox News has pulled hard right, it has become rare to see any genuine objective news reporting. Either the report fits in with a narrative, or else it is not reported.
How many times has CNN or MSNBC featured a negative report on Joe Biden or Barack Obama in the last decade? One could accuse Fox News of the same. But in all fairness, Fox News has much more variety. Sean Hannity and a few others have clearly been in the Trump-cheering corner. But many other reporters have not been as partisan.
We need Walter Cronkiteesque reporting. Back to the old days when you could trust the news reporters to report, not to parrot. Protests are not the key. The key is furthering the PR of any genuine news reporter who puts out quality reporting.
