Hamas is raining down rockets on Israel – here’s why it’s happening now

Israel walked away from the Gaza Strip in 2005. This was one of the greatest strategic mistakes that was ever made since the founding of the State of Israel. Ariel Sharon, the Prime Minister of Israel, led the decision and the implementation of what has proven to be one of the most destructive moves of the State of Israel.

For decades, Israel has been pressured to withdraw and “give peace a chance.” But of course, the basic problem with this theory is that it presupposes that the State of Israel is the source of the problem, and that if Israel would stop being so obstinate, than we would have some peace in the Middle East. This is pure rubbish. The only reason that there is any level of stability in the Middle East today is due to the very existence of the State of Israel, an island of democracy in a sea of dictatorships. What Israel has done is not just merely been a model of freedom and democracy. Israel has spread the ideals of economic success and peace with all those who are simply willing to lay down their weapons and accept Israel’s existence.

Ben Shapiro is one of the commentators who understands what should be fairly obvious. If the Arabs simply lay down their weapons, there would be instant peace in the Middle East. If the Arabs shoot missiles by the hundreds at Israel, Israel will destroy more and more of the Arab infrastructure. There are solutions to the problems in the Middle East. They lie in the elimination of the threat to the State of Israel – it’s that simple.
