The Proud Jewish Comedian, Bob Saget
Many know Bob Saget well from the famous TV show, Full House, which first aired in the late 1980s. He was Danny Tanner, the beloved father of his girls. He was also a stand-up comedian. Although he had a successful career, what was more impressive was his kind personality. After his sudden recent passing at a relatively young age in his mid 60s, many spoke about how kind he was and how much kindness he showed toward others. Saget even made a difference in the life of an 11 year old girl in the early 1990s.
He was loved by so many. People were truly saddened by his early passing. And now, many are learning how he was a proud Jewish man who grew up with many values of Judaism. He experienced antisemitism, like many Jews sadly have. Bob Saget seemed to have been more of a “normal” personality than many others in the business.
Saget’s message to others here is beautiful: Make a difference. Do what you can to make the world better. He did. He tried his best, and he has tasked others to do the same.
Although he made himself a big name in the world of entertainment, he was also very down to Earth and connected to his roots. He cared about his Jewish heritage and wanted to make a difference in the world.
