Egypt’s President Inspects War Preparedness Of His Army, Will He Attack Israel?

As the war between Israel and the Gazan Islamic Nazis continues an ominous sign of what may be coming is now happening in Egypt.

Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi spoke at length at the military celebrations commerrating what Israel calls the Yom Kippur war. He inspected the 4th Armored Division of 3rd Field Army in Suez for war readiness as it sat East of the Suez Canal.

Since the outbreak of the Simchat Torah war, El-Sisi threatened that Egypt would consider attacking Israel if the Jewish state created a “refugee crisis.” With the military celebrations turning into an active military inspection, one wonders if he is actually serious.

“The Egyptian military, with its strength, stature, capabilities, and efficiency, is committed to protecting Egypt and its national security without exceeding its mandate,” El-Sisi said.

What is the Egyptian military’s mandate?

The president pointed out that throughout Egypt’s history, its army has never breached its borders and has been consistently dedicated to preserving its land and territory.

Egypt and its military are always in security and peace, he said while emphasizing that “we [the army] must always be prepared and vigilant.”

But Egypt did breach its borders – both in 1948, during Israel’s War for Independence and again 1967 in an attempt to destroy Israel. Perhaps El-Sisi does not believe that was a breeching of Israel’s borders because perhaps he believes that Israel is built on Arab land. After all – was it not the Mamluks from Egypt who occupied and ruled Israel over 500 years ago?

If Israel does not make a move soon – it will not only be Hezbollah that opens another front, by Egypt as well. After all, if there is no deterrence, then why not also claim a chunk of the Jewish national homeland?
