WhatsappSomali-Canadian Imam, Said Rageah, demands Islamic men have more than one wife. He insists women who don’t allow husbands to have multiple wives aren’t true Muslims as Islam expects women to make sacrifices for Allah.
Traditional Islam holds that men can have more than one wife. Yet, in the above speech Said Rageah, a Somali- Canadian Imam claims that this is an obligation by Islam that a man must have more than one wife.
In fact, the Koran says the following in Sura 4:3 :
And if you be apprehensive that you will not be able to do justice to the orphans, you may marry two or three or four women whom you choose. But if you apprehend that you might not be able to do justice to them, then marry only one wife, or marry those who have fallen in your possession.
Rageah only takes one part of the above an inists it is do to man’s nature that he must marry more than one wife.
“Men are like hunters,” Rageah says. “As soon as they say I do, they are looking for the next.”
Rageah infers that a wife should want whats best for her husband and that is to have more than one wife. He insists that this is actually good for the wife as it gives her time to herself when her husband is with the other wife. “It is her time for herself.”
