WhatsappSeumas Milne is the Strategy & Communications Director for Jeremy Corbyn & the UK Labour Party. This is a speech he gave in front of tens of thousands of anti-Israel protesters at Hyde Park in London during Israel’s war against Hamas in the summer of 2014.
Antisemitic Comments
“The palestinians are an occupied people. They have the right to resist. They have the right to defend themselves from the occupier. It’s not terrorism to fight back. The terrorism is the killing of civilians by Israel on an industrial scale…”
This is the strategy and communications Director of Jeremy Corbyn and the UK Labour Party. He is the man leading Corbyn to become the next Prime Minister of Britain. He does not consider Hamas to be terrorists, rather they have to right to fight Israel and kill Jews. He believes Israel is the terrorist state.
Antisemitism in the Labour Party
The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of antisemitism adopted by the Labour party defines as antisemitic:
“Calling for, aiding or justifying the killing or harming of Jews in the name of a radical ideology or an extremist view of religion”
That is exactly what Milne did in that speech!
And an Ignorant Fool
Earlier he also mentions that “Israel has no right to defend itself from territories it illegally occupies. It only has a right to withdraw.” Israel withdrew from the Gaza strip back in 2005, 13 years ago, so he does not know what he is talking about The only occupation taking place in Gaza is the occupation of Hamas that oppresses the Gazans living there.
Regarding the air and sea closure, Israel and Egypt both enforce that closure because Hamas terrorizes both Israel and Egypt. Both Israel and Egypt have every right to do enforce this closure in order to defend themselves from Hamas’ aggression.
Yet, Israel still allows hundreds of trucks of goods into Gaza every day via land. So, Milne is misleading people into thinking that Israel is imposing a restrictive closure against the Gazans, which it is not. Even though, Israel has every right to do enforce a total closure, considering Hamas was voted into power by the Gazans and they are an enemy entity with the stated goal of destroying Israel.
