Is it a war crime for Israeli soldiers to defend themselves against belligerent Arabs who claim that they want to carve out their own Arab State within the borders of the State of Israel? The International Crimes Court in the Hague says “yes” to both questions. Well, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu properly categorizes the ICC as a kangaroo court and rejects the basic . But it is more than that.
Netanyahu points out that the ICC was created as a response to war crimes against humanity that were committed during World War II. The irony that the ICC is now turning it’s guns on the one and only Jewish State must not be overlooked. The Jewish State is perhaps the best response to the war crimes that Nazi Germany committed against humanity in World War II. The ICC clearly has no concern about the war crimes the the Syrian dictator has committed or that the Iraqi government has committed.
So, Netanyahu actually labeled the ICC as an anti-Semitic body. It is this way of standing up to the world that has endeared Prime Minister Netanyahu to so many Israelis and Israel supporters around the world. Anti-Semitism has not stopped. It never has nor every will stop. It has simply morphed into anti-Israel activity. It is alive and well on college campuses, and it is alive and well in the Hague at the International Criminal Court. It is better that we are criticized and alive than sympathized with and dead.
