Ben Shapiro Nailed it on the Political Matrix in America

Many labels are tossed around by political rivals. Fascist, socialist, communist, and even the word Nazi, are all used very frequently in the political discourse these days. These words do not necesssarily have the same connotation in Europe and the USA. Ben Shapiro does a masterful job of breaking it down to it’s parts – while making it clear that the only way to do this is with some sweeping generalizations that are not totally accurate.

But the most fascinating aspect of Ben’s analysis is that he sheds some light on how the radical left and radical right may actually end up joining forces when it comes to specific issues – such as anti-Israel attitudes. On how many issues do the radical progressives actually agree with the radical right-wingers? Not many. In truth, most of what each side espouses is diametrically opposed to the other side with one exception – the opposition to the Jewish State and the Jews in general.

This is not a new phenomenon. During the years leading up to the Communist Revolution in Russia, Jews were heavily represented throughout all of the revolutionary movements. For this, they were accused by all sides. They were accused by opposing sides of the Communists – the Mensheviks and the Bolsheviks for being leaders of both sies. Then following the revolution, through many of the Communist purges, hundreds of thousands of Jews were killed for being traitors. This trend comtinued for many decades and morphed into different versions in Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy.

The United States is a different story, but many of the similar thought patterns are clearly going on. Jews in the West are being accused of encouraging military interventionism in the Middle East by the isolationists and the radical progressives. There is probably no other group that has been similarly targeted by both extremes. That is usually a strong indicator of a time that will become dangerous for the Jewish people – especially if there is an economic downturn. With President Trump at the helm, the economy will probably largely move in the right direction. But in the years after the 2nd Trump term, things could go sour very quickly for the Jewish people in the West.
