Doing anything to protect the state of Israel is heroic. And being an IDF paratrooper is part of protecting Israel in an unbelievable way.

What an IDF Paratrooper Does

An IDF paratrooper does more than just jumping out of an airplane. They truly do a lot to protect Israel and the Jewish people. This video has no words, yet it gives a glimpse into the lives of these heroes.

These soldiers are foot soldiers. They are combat soldiers who fight the enemy face to face. Paratroopers are trained to parachute from planes into combat as well as being trained in reconnaissance, navigation and also intelligence operations.

It does not matter what a soldier’s job is. Whether a soldier serves as a paratrooper, in the navy, the airforce, intelligence, or any other unit, they are all doing something remarkable for the state of Israel and the Jewish people. Just a few decades ago – compared to the larger historical picture – the Jewish people had no modern state to call home. Yes, the land has been their ancestral homeland for thousands of years and belongs to them. But the Jews had no army and government during the long exile. And now, although the redemption is not yet complete, the Jewish nation has its own army and government. Is it perfect? Far from it. But that doesn’t mean we don’t thank G-d for the blessings He has bestowed upon us. With that in mind, we must continue to pray for the final redemption to come and for a time when everyone is following in G-d’s ways.
