Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds was a true hero during WWII. You won’t believe what he did to save these Jewish lives.
The Moral, Courageous US Soldier Who Saved 200 Jewish Lives
Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds did something unbelievable during the Holocaust. He risked his own life to save the lives of Jewish people. And because of him, those Jews lived and were able to go on to build their own families. It obviously was not a given during WWII for a non-Jew to risk his or her own life to save Jews. Those who did were called righteous gentiles. And Roddie Edmonds was one of them.
The Holocaust was a time where we saw so much darkness. The world witnessed the most horrific and evil events in history. The world also witnessed a kindness from individuals who wanted to spread light in such a dark time. These individuals were not just regular moral people. They went above and beyond. And history recorded their unprecedented good amongst such evil.
We must remember that even when it feels like the world is against the Jewish nation—the way it sometimes feels today—there are still those who have the moral courage to stand up to the haters and to defend G-d’s people. There are people who see the truth and share it with others. We must be grateful that G-d put these gems in the world to help us through these difficult times.
