The “innocent civilians” argument has proven to be very convincing to many unaware young people in America and the rest of the world. After all, who wants to see women and children being hurt? Does Ben Shapiro actually think that it’s OK to kill women and children? These are tough arguments to dispel.
The truth is that Hamas is responsible for every single bullet or missile that the Israeli Defense Forces use. Arabs from Jordan and Egypt have not had to deal with any Israeli bullets or missiles for one simple reason. They don’t attack Israel anymore – since 1967. Israel simply does not use force unless it is attacked. And yes, closing Israel’s hipping lanes in 1967 was an attack on Israel akin to placing a noose around a person’s head and not tightening it.
The Arabs in the Middle East who don’t attack Israel are enjoying greater prosperity than the Arabs who choose the path of killing and destruction. There are still masses of people in the West who have not gotten used to the idea that the Jews in Israel have stopped being the punching bag. When the Jews in Israel were attacked by Hamas, they were happy to see Jewish women raped, Jewish babies burned, and elderly Jews kidnapped.
Those same people claim that it is immoral to flatten a neighborhood that has been used as a platform to attack Jews. They create fake international law to justify attacks on Jews and hide behind fake international law in order to criticize Jewish responses as being disproportionate.
What they need to get used to is the idea that every Jewish response to terror should be completely disproportionate – so as to disincentivize any would-be attacker from deciding to attack a Jew. To be clear, any piece of land bordering Israel that is used as a platform to attack the State of Israel should be taken by the State of Israel and annexed into the State of Israel.
That is both morally correct and tactically effective. One of the things that has become clear from the world onslaught against Israel following October 7th and before the State of Israel responded militarily is that there are hundreds of millions of Jew-haters across the world that are ready to jump at any chance to attack the Jewish people’s right to exist.
This disturbing fact of reality would be overwhelming to bear if it were not for the fact that G-d has promised the Jewish people that He will always watch over His Land and His people. The Jewish people will prevail as it is the force of good that is in this world – from the beginning of Creation till this very day.
