WhatsappAfter the deaths of five soldiers earlier in the week, the IDF has decided to take the gloves off, besieging the entire city in Northern Gaza.
The IDF made the following announcement regarding the siege of Beit Hanoun:
“The Givati Brigade combat team, under the command of Division 162, joined forces from Division 99 and began operations to encircle Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip. The forces are working to destroy terrorist infrastructure, eliminate terrorists, and negate Hamas military capabilities in the area.”
The continued campaign to crush what remains of Hamas in northern Gaza is occurring at the same time as hostage deal and ceasefire talks are underway in Qatar. Despite Steve Witkoff’s earlier announcement that he believes Israel and Hamas were close, those connected to the talks have been far less optimistic.
President Trump may want a deal, but not at the expense of allowing Hamas to claw back into control or to do away with the American funded GHF. With no deal still ironed out, the IDF will be ordered to crush Hamas once and for all.
