Israel has destroyed most of the offensive capabilities of the Hamas in Gaza. Most of the terrorists are dead. Most of the homes in Gaza where the terrorists lived are destroyed. It is oh so tempting to declare the end of hostilities and walk away with some sort of a deal that frees some of the terrorists, but lets Hamas still breathe and dominate Gaza. But that would be foolish, tactically unwise, and a massive strategic mistake. Finish the job. Yes, it endangers our soldiers. But it will save the lives of hundreds and thousands of civilians and soldiers in the future if Hamas is finished once and for all in Gaza.
The most effective method to deal with terrorists is to kill them. Negotiating with terrorists is not just unwise. It is fruitless and plays right into their hands. Terrorists use the weakness of those who value life in order to promote their anti-life values.
But terrorists do understand one thing – force. They understand power directed at their weaknesses and they understand that if they try to kill they will be killed and their families will suffer. That is language they understand. That is why it is absolutely critical to punish the families of terrorists who destroy the lives of others. If families of would-be terrorists know that their home will be destroyed, they will do whatever they can to make sure to stop their son or daughter from thinking of becoming a terrorist.
There are non-perfect solutions for fighting terror. But no solution is serious without overwhelming force and hi-tech innovation working in tandem. This principle is absolutely vital. The terrorists are lethally scared of unmanned drones finding them cowering in a hiding spot. The terrorists are scared of an unmanned tractor coming to their house and toppling it on top of them. If that is what scares them, then that is what we should be using.
Part of an effective psychological strategy against terrorists should be displaying videos of Israel’s effective hi-tech gadgets that allow Israel to find every single terrorist in Gaza.
