According to Arab media, an unnamed Israeli source has claimed that Iran is transferring weapons to Hezbollah using the Beirut international airport.

Israel has threatened to bomb the airport in the past if it was found that Iran is using it to transfer weapons to the terror group based in Southern Lebanon. It has accused Lebanon of allowing Hezbollah of using space below the airport to produce missiles. Citing unnamed sources, al-Arabiya said Thursday that Iran has been using the Meraj airline, which only recently started to fly a direct route between the two nations’ capitals, in order to transfer weapons to Hezbollah.

Israel has flown hundreds of missions over Syria to prevent Iran from transferring weapons to Hezbollah.

Despite the success of these missions, Hezbollah has still managed to build up a formidable arsenal. Weapons transfers have occurred using Damascus and Aleppo airports. If Iran is using the Beirut airport, Israel will be forced to attack.
