WhatsappYesterday and today, Gazans seeking aid at one of the new American run distribution centers in Gaza were gunned down. Hamas immediately claimed Israel was the party that carried out the “massacre.” With willing allies in Western media outlets carrying Hamas propaganda about a massacre that never was, the IDF confirmed that it was in fact someone else behind the attacks.
Since it first opened last week the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has been the single biggest threat to Hamas’ civilian rule since October 7th. Hamas’ continued control of the Gazan population has been entirely reliant on stealing the humanitarian aid shipped into the Gaza Strip and then reselling it to the general population at high prices.
This system enabled Hamas to feed itself, pay its fighters, and keep the general population from rebelling. Thanks to the GHF this near complete control over Gaza’s civilians has begin to rapidly break down.
Despite the fact that Hamas has every incentive to attack ordinary Gazans seeking food from the GHF, international media outlets decided to adopt Hamas’ propaganda that it was the IDF that “slaughtered” the Gazans.
The IDF said that it was allowing GHF to operate “independently to distribute aid to Gaza residents and prevent it from reaching the Hamas terror organization.”
“IDF troops do not prevent the arrival of Gaza residents to the distribution sites. The shooting was carried out about half a kilometer from the distribution site, toward individual suspects approaching the forces in a manner that threatened them,” the military said.
“The forces fired warning shots, and after they did not disperse, additional fire was carried out next to several suspects who approached the forces,” the military said.
In a statement Tuesday morning, GHF said it handed out “21 truckloads of food this morning, totaling 20,160 boxes.”
“We understand that IDF is investigating whether a number of civilians were injured after moving beyond the designated safe corridor and into a closed military zone,” GHF said.
“This was an area well beyond our secure distribution site and operations area. We recognize the difficult nature of the situation and advise all civilians to remain in the safe corridor when traveling to our distribution sites.”
Despite the facts, the UN who is in competition with the GHF issued a condemnation of Israel and the GHF.
UN human rights chief Volker Turk said “deadly attacks” on civilians around aid distribution sites in the Gaza Strip constituted “a war crime.”
“Deadly attacks on distraught civilians trying to access the paltry amounts of food aid in Gaza are unconscionable,” UN human rights chief Volker Turk said in a statement. “For a third day running, people were killed around an aid distribution site run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. This morning, we have received information that dozens more people were killed and injured.”
“Palestinians have been presented the grimmest of choices: die from starvation or risk being killed while trying to access the meager food that is being made available through Israel’s militarized humanitarian assistance mechanism. This militarized system endangers lives and violates international standards on aid distribution, as the United Nations has repeatedly warned.”
So whose telling the truth?
The groups who have the biggest incentive to end the GHF and paint Israel as war criminal are the UN and Hamas. Since the beginning of the GHF last week, Qatari propaganda platform Al Jazeera along with other leftwing media outlets have pushed various lies about the GHF. From the beginning the UN and Hamas have been working together and without aid distribution, both of those groups have a limited shelf life. Despite the calls attacking Israel, the real culprits are Hamas and the UN who back them up.
