While the back and forth over Ukraine continues to take central stage, Russia is busy building up its military around Israel.
Russia continues to send more and more troops and planes to Syria, bolstering its armed forces in the country. With the potential for war rising all the time in Eastern Europe, why would Putin be sending his forces to Syria.
The answer is simple. He is attempting to pull Israel out of the American orbit. Now that the Biden administration has shown itself to be a paper tiger, Israel sees that it cannot rely on American support to face down Iran and Russia. With no help, Israel may have to sue for protection.
In a sense Putin is saying to Israel – I’ll make you a deal you cannot refuse.
