As tensions mount between Israel and Hezbollah, three members of the terrorist organization attempted to enter Israel through the Northern security fence.
A non-lethal defensive explosion was set off upon their attempt – sending them running back into Lebanon.
The attempt occurred on the 17th anniversary of the second Lebanon war. Hezbollah set off fires earlier in the day by the Israeli village of Metula. The fires and warning shots were reported by both local Israeli and Lebanese reporters. One source in the military said the fires caused a number of old landmines to explode in the area.
“The IDF will continue to prevent any attempt to violate Israeli sovereignty and damage to the northern security fence,” the military said in a statement.
