What is the single greatest threat facing the young generation of America today? If you said, the pervasiveness of social media, and it’s distinct ability to take over enormous chunks of time from nearly everybody, you would have a point. After all, the dominance that is felt in the lives of so many from their seemingly endless use of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram is indeed frightening. But, there may be a more dangerous and pernicious threat inside of our cellphones – TikTok.

TikTok is a Chinese company that has grown exponentially in the last few years. It has become the most dominant platform of the young generation, due to it’s ease of use, and strong addictive nature. Putting aside the concern of addiction and all of the negative aspects that that brings along with it, TikTok is a massive information generator, like all massive social media companies. Simply put, China is now penetrating the Western world via millions of phones that are transmitting endless information to the Chinese Communist Party about all of the TikTok users across the world.

It is one thing to be hooked on cheap toy prices from Made in China toys. It is yet another thing to be addicted to pain medicine that is manufactured in China and bought over the counter for a few dollars to relieve common ailments. But to pass on massive amounts of personal information to the government of the largest and wealthiest totalitarian government is yet another thing. That is what tens of millions of people are doing every day now over and over.

The ability of the Chinese Communist Party to subvert the United States via messaging on TikTok is truly frightening. These are not the forces of free market doing what they do. Even Milton Friedman would admit that the Chinese Communist Party is a whole different story and governmental intervention is necessary to stop the threat.

For example, if the CCCP decides to favor a specific Presidential candidate in America for their soft-on-China attitude, it is fairly simple for TikTok to feature this Presidential contender in positive terms via TikTok featured videos in battleground States across America. As we have seen in the recent past, in close elections, the younger voters are often a group that can be easily influenced. Nothing works better today to change people’s minds than a barrage of short powerful videos that present a certain matter in a positive or negative light.

In the 2024 Presidential election, the key may not be whether or not Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination or Joe Biden runs for reelection. TikTok’s power on the minds of new voters may turn out to be the key factor to any Democrat winning the White House.
