US Strikes Back…What’s Next?

The Biden Administration ordered massive strikes against Iranian backed proxies in Syria and Iraq on Saturday. This was a retaliatory strike for the death of three US soldiers in an American base on the Jordan-Syria border.

While many news outlets insist this is the beginning of the Third World War, most likely this will die back down soon after Biden flexes his muscles. After all, the USA did not attack Iran directly, but rather its proxies. This was the most obvious course of action in an election year and Iran new that was the most likely scenario.

For Iran, its proxies are designed to get smashed. They are in fact mere pieces on a chess board structured in a way to shield the regime from a direct assault. Biden’s team knows this and by only attacking some of the Shiite militias in Syria and Iraq, it is essentially giving Iran a break. Biden does not want to take in the Ayatollahs in an election year.

Iran may decide to attack back, but for now they will be patient and wait for the right time to escalate. For now all eyes will be back on Gaza.
