The Commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), General Michael Eric Kurilla, visited Israel yesterday as the official guest of the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir.

The IDF Made this statement regarding General Kurilla’s visit:

“During his visit, the General held a joint panel with the Chief of Staff and senior IDF commanders, during which the achievements of Operation “Am Kalavi” and the situation in the near and far theaters were presented. Later, the CENTCOM commander visited the Air Force pit with the Commander of the Air Force, Major General Tomer Bar, and other commanders.”

The question many people are asking is why? After all Kurilla is planning retiring shortly, what could be so important about his visit? Many people make the observation that General Kurilla is considered very pro-Israel and sees the partnership between the USA and Israel as key. He was instrumental in backing Israel’s attack on Israel and sees Iran as America’s enemy number one.

While most people believe the Iran-Israel war is over – the truth is, we may be seeing round two very shortly, making General Kurilla’s visit instrumental in ensuring Israel keeps its edge.
