WhatsappMembers of one party switching parties is not as rare as people may think. After all, opportunism runs rampant in much of the political world. And when a member feels that their party is going out of style and the opposing party offers them clear incentives to jump ship, it is often tempting.
But it is more than just opportunism. The Democrat Party has made it clear to so many people that it is driving itself off a cliff ideologically. What is happening here is that classical liberals are realizing that the Republican Party is more normal, liberal, and reasonable than the Democrat Party on nearly all issues.
Border security, crime, and freedom are issues that matter to nearly everyone in nearly every State today. It should not surprise anyone if this trend continues. Senator Manchin, a Democrat, has shown himself to be one of the only reasonable Democrats. Had it not been for his votes, billions of dollars would have been thrown out the window over progressive policies that represent no more than 25% of the American electorate.
The classic liberal Democrat is fast becoming an endangered species. Until things return to normalcy in the Democrat side of the aisle, many will keep making the leap.
