Listening to this 9/11 speech in Jerusalem is extremely powerful. The eternal connection between the United States, the Jewish people, and Israel is clear.

Living Memorial Plaza

This 9/11 speech in Jerusalem was given by the United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert Wilkie. The remarks were given at a Memorial ceremony in Jerusalem where Israel’s monument stands to remember the victims of the terrible terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The memorial is called “Living Memorial Plaza.” Every part of the memorial means something. It is the only monument outside of the US that has every victim’s name etched in. Every single name of the nearly 3,000 victims is listed. The monument even has a piece from the destruction of the Twin Towers.

The memorial itself shows the strong and unbreakable bond between Israel and America. And so does this speech.

Must Hear 9/11 Speech in Jerusalem

Robert Wilkie could not have said it any better. His remarks were meaningful, powerful, and touched upon important points. Wilkie said, “Each year, we visit this hollowed site and marvel that the people of Israel could take part of the wreckage from New York City and make something beautiful and hopeful from it. It is a deep gesture of affection between our two nations that expresses the depth of our historic relationship and teaches us the true meaning of words like friendship and courage…we are not only content to share our triumphs, but we are compelled to share our tragedies.”

May the bond between Israel and America only get stronger!
