It’s not easy to become a convert to Judaism. But this Palestinian Arab from Gaza found the truth on his own.

The Unexpected Convert to Judaism

Ayman Abu Suboh, now Dor Shachar, had a long journey from the time he decided he wanted to leave his life of hatred in Gaza and convert to Judaism. As you can hear from his story, it was not an easy process on either end – from Gaza or from Israel. But he stuck to his gut. Dor stuck to his connection to truth and did not give up.

Dor was brainwashed as a child in Gaza. He was raised on extremism and terrorism; on hatred of the Jewish people. He was taught to kill Jews. And somehow, he managed to get away from that. It is not easy to swim against the tide. It is not easy to risk your life in order to run away from all the hate. But Dor did. And he endured torture and suffering for it, yet he still continued on his mission to find the truth.

And now, he dedicates his life to informing others about the truth and what happens in Gaza.

Stories like this one are unique, but a story like this one gives hope to a peaceful future. It shows that it IS possible for people to see the truth and run away from extremism and violence. It might not be easy, but it’s possible. We hope that the day will come soon when everyone will see the truth.
