Abdol Hossein Sardari was not just a regular Iranian Muslim. He was a top diplomat. He was royalty. And he became a hero during the Holocaust.

The Iranian Muslim Who Risked His Life to Save Jews

This story is truly remarkable. It is amazing what some people were willing to do to save Jews during the Holocaust. As a prominent Iranian Muslim, Abdol Hossein Sardari had every reason to not save the Jewish people from the hands of the Nazis. But the fact that he risked his status, his life, and all his money to save whatever Jews he could is beyond heroic. People need to know this story.

Abdol Hossein Sardari could have stopped after he was asked to come back to Iran. After all, he had already done what he could to save Jews. But the fact that even then he didn’t stop trying is extraordinary. He acted with heroism. People know about Oskar Schindler. But there were others like him who risked everything to help the Jewish people, and we must learn their stories as well.

These righteous gentiles deserve our gratitude, even after they have passed from this world. The Jewish people need to know about the heroic individuals who helped their fellow brothers and sisters during the Holocaust. We need to be thankful for their actions that saved countless Jews. Those Jews who then went on to have children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren must be forever grateful to G-d, of course, and to His messengers who saved them; to people like Abdol Hossein Sardari.
