The lyrics say “A great return to Torah learning.” We celebrate the fact that the Greeks tried to destroy us spiritually but failed. They wanted to get rid of our Torah and our morals. But the Jewish people stayed strong.
The Jewish people have faced the threat of spiritual and physical annihilation for centuries and centuries. It is miraculous that they are still here and the “mighty” Greeks, Romans, and others are not.
