The Arabs of East Jerusalem Got Busted by the Truth

There is one issue that nearly all Israelis agree with – Jerusalem is and should continue to be the undivided capital of the State of Israel. The Arabs in East Jerusalem are not what many people claim. Most of the Arabs who live in East Jerusalem are not necessarily pro-Israel, but they are receiving better services via the Israeli government than nearly any other Arabs in the entire Middle East.

Many Arabs in the State of Israel are quite happy with their lives, yet wish that the State of Israel would cease to exists. This is a hard nut to swallow. But this is the Middle East. For decades – really centuries – the Middle East has been filled with inconsistencies and contradictions. One would think that if the jobs, health care, education, and infrastructure of a neighborhood improve, then people would be more happy with the leaders. But in Israel, despite the fact that the Arabs have so much more to be happy about, the anti-Israel bug is alive and well.

There are more and more Arabs who are quietly happy to be citizens of the State of Israel. But, the majority unfortunately see no difference between being happier with their lives, and yet also opposing the very existence of the State of Israel. The ultimate change that will lead to a peaceful future is nowhere in sight. It will take at least a generation or two of new textbooks and new ideas. But, yes, it could happen – not in this generation.
