An Arab terrorist from eastern Jerusalem shot pedestrians waiting for a bus, near the Western Wall at 1:30 Sunday morning.

The terrorist attacked two different locations injuring eight people all together, some seriously. One of the victims was a 30 year old pregnant woman, whose baby had to be delivered prematurely at the hospital. After the shooting, the terrorist fled into the Shiloach neighborhood (aka Silwan) where a massive manhunt was undertaken by Shabak, the police, and border police.

MDA Senior EMT Nehemia Katz and MDA Paramedic David Trachtenberg said: “We were on scene very quickly. On Ma’ale Hashalom St. we saw a passenger bus standing in the middle of the road, bystanders called us to treat two males around 30 years old who were on the bus with gunshot wounds. They were fully conscious and walking with wounds to the upper body. We provided them with lifesaving treatment and were taken to hospital by MDA ambulances that had arrived at the scene.”

In the moments after the attack, the police prevented people from leaving the Western Wall Plaza until it was safe to do so. The manhunt for the terrorist continued for six hours until the terrorist turned himself in.
