The South of Israel is gorgeous – if you like deserts. But leave it to Israel to find a way to make the desert bloom. As you’ll see in this tout, not every part of Southern Israel is turning green, but that just adds to it’s beauty.

David Ben-Gurion dreamt of the Negev evolving into an essential part of residential Israel. He did not merely hope that it would be a tourist attraction, but that it would serve as the home for hundreds of thousands of Jews that would return to the Land of Israel.

Although this has not yet happened, there are significant steps that have been taken in this direction. First off, Be’er Sheva is a thriving city that continues to grow rather consistently. But there are other small towns in Israel’s south that are rapidly developing into small cities. Dimona and Mitzpe Ramon are two examples. But with the vast expanses of Israel’s Negev, Israel still has a long way to go till it reaches it’s potential down south.
