When you try to be everything to everybody, you end up being nothing to everybody. Kamala Harris seems to be trying to cowtow to nearly everyone. The forced accents are just a symptom of the problem. But the pandering attitude simply doesn’t resonate. Especially when her opponent has no problem speaking with such clear straight talk, even when he knows that he will lose many voters for being politically incorrect. Trump just doesn’t care if you like him or not. He speaks his mind and trusts that enough people will see that he is in the right.
Kamala Harris is stuck trying to be a progressive candidate who represents the Democrat Party’s sharp move to the left, while also pandering to various parts of the electorate in the center. This may prove to be impossible. It’s not working well, except for one group that Harris may be swaying – suburban moms.
Young women are probably more inclined to vote for Kamala Harris due to their progressive tendencies and Harris’ policies on the abortion issue. But, suburban Moms care about crime, their pocketbooks, and yes – foreign affairs. On all of these, Donald Trump’s policies speak more to their sensitivities. And they all know that their dollar bought much more when Donald Trump was President.
But most of the electorate is not young, is not in the suburbs, and knows that crime and illegal immigration are both destroying many facets of life in their cities and towns. So, for many millions of people that live lifestyles like JD Vance did when he grew up, they will vote for the Donald because they think that he understands them, stands for what they stand, and has proven that he will get the economy back on track.
If only 15% of the electorate was undecided before the summer began, today, most of them are leaning heavily to voting for Donald Trump because of economic reasons. They have not heard any form of sound policies from the Harris camp except on the issue of abortion. They may not like Donald Trump on a personality level. But they trust his understanding of economics and business, and like his track record on foreign affairs. The lack of a cogent argument on the Democrat side will probably lead to the undoing of the Harris presidential election attempt.
