Benjamin Netanyahu did not become the world-class leader that he has become in a vacuum. He was raised by brilliant parents and in a home that was intricately involved in the founding of the State of Israel.
He eloquently explains that the key to advancing the cause of the State of Israel via public leadership is via espousing the justice of one’s cause via public opinion and articulating how Israel serves political interests with officials in government positions. This clearly explains the strategy that Netanyahu has advanced throughout his career.
When he speaks at the UN or in Congress, he is clearly trying to influence public opinion. But when he meets with Presidents and leaders of countries, he is focused on how support of Israel advances their interests.
The part of this interview that is so fascinating is the aspect of how Netanyahu’s father spoke with General Eisenhower about how the State of Israel would evolve into becoming a bastion of democracy in the Middle East over time and serve as a bulwark against Soviet expansionism. This is precisely what has occurred and continues to go on today.
