The Western world – specifically the United States of America – is under attack. It is not under any impending missile attack – whether from Russia or China. The United States has an excellent plan of deterrence on that front. The United States is not under any impending attack on the economic front. It is actually in the process of reasserting it’s economic supremacy in the world, even over China, the emerging cash-heavy economic power that is spreading its tentacles over much of the world. The threat is more of a homegrown and slowly creeping threat. It is the threat of moral decay combined with a lack of willingness to sacrifice for the country that threatens the moral fabric of the United States.
The United States of America would not have come into being had it not been for the few who were willing to sacrifice for the many. Most of the people who lived in the 13 colonies were not willing to fight against the British. Many were loyalists who were not interested in a fight. They were reasonable people, but they bent their knees and wills against the British who were subjecting the colonies to unfair taxation and subjugation.
The brave few who were willing to stand up for what they saw as wrong were risking their own lives and the lives of their families. It was a very risky gambit. But when you can clearly see what is wrong and what is right and you know what you are fighting for, you don’t give in easily. That is what occurred back in 1776 and that is what may become necessary 250 years later.
It may very well be a fight without weapons. But it will be a fight in Congress and at the ballot box for the Executive for the power to allow moral depravity to win or lose. England, France and other countries in the West are well on their way to becoming irrelevant as Western countries. America is getting a taste of this in New York City now.
Will this trend grow or be pushed back? That is the short-term question. But long-term, either things will begin to change back to the morals of the Founding Fathers or else, the United States will find itself in a situation where States begin to seriously consider seceding. That is very risky business that could very easily lead to the gradual dissolution of the Union into separate countries. That would be tragic on multiple levels and lead to the United States becoming a 2nd rate world power.
