Who is responsible for doing good and who is responsible for doing bad things? This may seem like a simplistic question that is not really serious. But, quite to the contrary, it is exactly the issue. Actually, there is even a greater issue that lies behind the divide between reasonable and unreasonable people. What defines good and what defines evil?
In this Ben Shapiro takedown of communist ideology, he breaks down the attitudes that lead to communist mayors of cities like Mamdani actually siding with criminals. It is basically just an extension of an existing attitude that views people as not really being responsible for their actions. It is an attitude that views systems as responsible for actions and not people. The mindset views people as basically just controlled by systems. Therefore, the people are not really to blame – the problem is the system. So goes the distorted logic.
This anti-Western mindset is dead wrong on almost every level. Yes, a person who has spent most of their childhood in a home that was more of a drug-dealing den than a family with two functioning parents will have a much steeper climb to become a positive contributor to society. But no matter what the situation, a person will always be responsible for their actions. Some need more help reaching this awareness and getting a step-up to understand this. They’ll need a few social workers and trusting family members along the way to give them a kick where needed. But, no matter what, a criminal is responsible for their actions. It is not the society or the actions of the police that are responsible.
Ultimately, even the old-time liberal attitudes did not excuse people for their actions based on their background. They just thought they needed more governmental support than conservatives thought. That was a valid opinion, even if it was exaggerated. But modern-day communist ideology has gone way over the deep end in basically excusing all who do any iniquity as victims. Personal responsibility has basically been tossed out of the window by the AOC’s, Mamdani’s and Sanders-type mindsets.
That is why the progressive woke crowd views Hamas terrorists as victims, and mass murderers as unfortunate people who never had a chance for success in this world. They only accuse billionaires as the real cause of most problems when in truth the billionaires are exactly who should be viewed as the success stories to learn from in order to be inspired and succeed.
