It is truly astounding to watch what is going on these days right near the cradle of civilization. The leading power of the Western world, the United States, is confronting, in epic proportions, the 45+ year attempt by the Iranian dictatorship to build an alternative power structure to confront Western civilization.
Marco Rubio stands out as the person who most clearly explained the battle of civilizations that the world finds itself in. However, the credit must be given to President Donald Trump for his willingness to pull the trigger. More precisely, Pres. Trump deserves the credit for giving the orders to pummel Iran’s leadership and drive them back a few decades.
Even more important, the signal that is sent to China, Russia, and any other bad actors is that the United States will not allow a regional bully to grow into an international bully. America’s alliance with Israel was certainly a part of this. But the main issue that drove President Trump to confrontation is the Iran-China connection. He saw breaking this bond as vital to breaking China’s drive to spread its tentacles deep into the Middle East and across Europe. Without Chinese weapons, Iran could not build up rapidly.
Is this indeed the war between Gog and Magog that is prophesied in the Bible? It sure has many signs of it being just that. But at the very least, it is part of the battle of Gog and Magog that are part of the storyline of the End of Days. These times are truly historic as the last few decades have been.
The enormously impressive buildup of the State of Israel coupled with the historic ingathering of exiled Jews from all four corners of the earth cannot be explained as anything less than miraculous. The war taking place today is no less Biblical in scope.
