Whatsapp“Free Palestine” mobs today are reminiscent of the small but growing Nazi movement in Germany that took root in the 1920’s. Either they will be called out loudly as Nazi-supporters or they will keep growing in force and ferocity.
Back in the 1920’s, the Nazi propaganda machine convinced many of the masses in Germany that the cause for the German defeat in World War I was the Jewish influence in the world that “stabbed them in the back.” How did this idea not just take root but become widely accepted by so many seemingly cultured and educated people across Germany?
It all goes back to Germany being a country that was supremely confident that they would succeed in World War I. They had prepared for battle for many years and were quite sure that they would be able to defeat France via Belgium and Russia afterwards – if necessary. German generals strove to not fight a two-front war. In the end, they ended up losing largely due to superior fire power and the inability to overcome the numerical disadvantage that the Allies had over Germany and the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Most of the battles were not fought on German land. Many battles were indeed won by Germany, especially in France, and many German soldiers were shocked to find out that Germany actually lost the war as they had been so successfl on their front. Additionally, most people in Germany were not directly impacted by enemy bombardments. But the end result was total German defeat and stiff punishment meted out at the Treaty of Versailles against Germany while the Austro-Hungarian Empire was split up into numerous small countries.
A strong rumor spread throughout Germany that the only explanation for what transpired during World War I was that there must have been a group of Germans that stabbed Germany in the back as double agents. Otherwise, Germany would have won the war. The scapegoat, as is nearly always the case, were the Jewish people. They were the only group of Gemans that could clearly be labeled as having an interest in Germany’s defeat. Despite the fact that Jewish soldiers fought valiantly in the German Army in the tens of thousands and were killed in the thousands, even more Jews served in the Armies of the Allies. But the German people believed the false rumor. They needed to latch on to something to restore their honor. Blaming somebody else was the easy path they chose, dspite having no connection to reality.
What most Germans did not realize was that instead of connecting to the truth and accepting the reality that they were misled by delusions of grandeur and power that Germany’s Army simply did not possess, they were tapping into and connecting with the most evil impulses of mankind. It took around 15 years, but by 1933, a sufficient minority of Germans felt strongly enough to democratically vote Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party into power. They did not receive anywhere close to 50% of the vote, but they had enough votes to cobble together a government, and then quickly consolidated power and turned Germany into a totalitarian entity. The radical fringe of Germany went from a marginalized dangerous rabble to the leaders of the country in a rapid rise due to the pressing need for Germany to have an ideology that they could feel proud of and that offered hope for a better future. The power of nationalism, then and today, is an enormously powerful yet potentially dangerous force.
Today’s rabble of woke progressives have completely adopted the anti-Jewish hatred that has been a latent force throughout the history of mankind. They scream slogans like “Free Palestine” with the same fervor that Arabs in Israel scream “Kill the Jews.” Can masses of young Americans and British people truly believe this? The answer is yes, but some of these confused souls can still be enlightened.
Some of the anti-Israel protesters truly do not realize that they are supporting beheading babies, raping women, and kidnapping Jewish grandmothers. They need some serious straight talk and perhaps will wake up from their zombie-like support of Hamas masacres of Jews. But some of the Jew-haters are so far gone and only see Israelis as genocidal killers. For these people, all that can be done is to defeat them and make sure they are not in power. Rashida Tlaib and Mr. Corbyn in England do not need an education. They need to be defeated on election day.
If America continues to elect Squad-like candidates into powerful positions, the slide to a radicalized America with radical positions that will endanger the world will be rapid and scary, and end up leading the world to a dangerous place that nobody will be safe in.
