The best word to describe the Palestinian Authority is “kleptocracy.” It is indeed an elected entity that has been created and propped up by many international institutions – especially the UN – with the express goal of pressuring Israel.
But the Arabs who are in charge of the PA are not only not concerned about the people they are supposed to serve. They are actually one of the most corrupt entities in the entire world. Hundreds of millions of dollars are sent their way in order to supposedly promote peace. Not only do these funds not end up helping the masses, but millions of these dollars are also used to encourage terrorist activities against Jews. Pay to slay is not just a rhyming slogan. It is a policy promoted by the corrupt leaders of the Palestinian Authority.
There are indeed a not insignificant number of Arabs living in Israel that prefer living under Israel and not under the Palestinian Authority. They receive better health care, protection, better roads and a general sense of freedom. But Arabs who live under the PA are generally speaking stuck in a cycle of terror promotion by the PA followed by anti-terror activities that Israel is forced to undertake. That is why the One State Solution makes much more sense than any other idea promoted to increase calm and stability inside of Israel’s borders.
There is no room for multiple entities west of the Jordan – especially not multiple entities armed with machine guns. It is just a matter of time till things will erupt. Ultimately, there is no solution outside of the dissolution of the Palestinian Authority’s ability to enforce via an armed force. The entire Oslo agreement was based on a pipe dream that Israel had a true partner to make peace with. But the only lasting solution that Israel can strive for will be based on total victory for Israel and defeat of its enemies.
