Robert Kraft receives Genesis Prize and does something remarkable with that moment

by Leah Rosenberg

Robert Kraft is the owner of the New England Patriots. What an accomplishment for him to win the Genesis Prize! AND what he said he’ll do – wow!

Robert Kraft

Robert Kraft has been the owner of the New England Patriots football team since 1994. Kraft is also a Jew. He recently received the Genesis prize. And in the speech he gave after being awarded, he announced a foundation to fight antisemitism. In that moment, he could have done and said anything. He could have talked about his accomplishments. But instead, he chose this important issue to address. Kraft took the moment to be an ambassador for the Jewish people.

Fighting Antisemitism

Kraft said, “When I was awarded the Genesis Prize in January, I promised to dedicate myself even more than before to fighting antisemitism, BDS, and other efforts to delegitimize the state of Israel.” He then announced that he is launching a foundation for fighting antisemitism on social media. He personally pledged 20 million dollars to this foundation. Robert Kraft feels connected to the Jewish people. He wants to do his part to combat antisemitism. It is so present in today’s world, and he feels he can do something to change that.

Most of us probably cannot contribute 20 millions dollars towards fighting antisemitism. But we can all do our own part in stopping the lies and spreading the truth. We can all be ambassadors for Israel in our own way.
