This is an extremely emotional performance; a song that Jonathan Pollard requested to be sung at a memorial for his wife.

Memorial for the Wife of Jonathan Pollard

After finally being released from a prison sentence that was undeserved in its length, Jonathan Pollard and his wife Esther made Aliyah. They returned home to Israel – to their ancient, ancestral homeland.

Sadly, Jonathan’s wife recently passed away. It is completely heartbreaking.

At a memorial for Esther, Pollard requested that the song “We are home” be sung. From Arutz Sheva: “When Jonothan and Esther Pollard landed in Israel, Esther sang him the song “We Are Home.” Esther would go on to listen to that same song daily for the remainder of her time in Israel. At Jonathan’s request, the members of the band Kippalive came to sing the song at the ceremony held tonight in Esther’s memory.”

What a beautiful way to honor Esther’s memory.

The Lyrics

Left it all to be with you
Distant dreams have now come true
Walked the streets of legends told
We’ve come home.

We’ve come home
We’ve come home
And we’ll never stand alone
After 2000 years, we are home.

Not a native of this land
Bring me up and take my hand
Sapphire seas and golden sand
A place called home.

We’ve come home
We’ve come home
To a land of our own
After 2000 years, we are home.

We’ve come home
We’ve come home
And we’ll never stand alone
After 2000 years, we are home.
