Donald Trump does not only care about Israel because he supports the Jewish State. He supports Israel because he wants to have support from the Evangelical movement. It is not a very deep connection that is based on his deep understanding of history and appreciation of Israel. But it is impossible to not see that his record on Israel between 2016 – 2020 is excellent. He is correct in noting that he has been one of the most pro-Israel Presidents since the inception of the State of Israel.
Does Donald Trump have a good relationship with Benjamin Netanyahu? Well, they certainly speak a similar language in terms of their focus on finances. They both understand what many do not, that the key to solving many of the world conflicts is perhaps economics.
Even though the battle over the State of Israel is at its heart a religious war, a critical part of the solution to bringing stability and better to the Middle East is indeed based on promoting the economic interests of tens of millions of moderate Arabs in the Middle East. Expect Donald Trump to clamp down on Iran as he did in his 1st term. Expect Trump to also push hard against Qatar’s financial backing of terror movements like Hamas.
But most of all, expect Donald Trump’s policies to be based on a return to common sense. That has been sorely missing in the recent past.
