Malaysian PM defends his antisemitism and Holocaust denial with an absurd comment

What a perverted way to use the concept of freedom of speech! Holocaust denial, antisemitism – the excuse? Apparently, free speech makes it okay.

Holocaust Denial from a PM

A world leader should not be supporting Holocaust denial. But sadly, the Malaysian prime minister, Mahathir bin Mohamad, is a horrible antisemite. He even smiles as he talks about the Holocaust in such a degrading way. This is obviously not the first example of antisemitism displayed by the Malaysian prime minister. He has shown his antisemitism on many, many occasions. But it is definitely an example that should make everyone cringe. Holocaust denial is not something that should be happening in this world. And when you hear it practiced by someone who is supposed to be a world leader – it just is sick.

And his excuse is even worse.

Free Speech?

It was bad when the prime minister of Malaysia showed his blatant antisemitism and Holocaust denial. But then his excuse? He said, “I’m exercising my right to free speech.” Freedom of speech does not make antisemitism acceptable. It does not justify when someone denies the Holocaust and lies about the facts. Mahathir bin Mohamad even tried to act as if he knows best because he was alive during the Holocaust and others in the crowd were not. But he ignored the fact that their grandparents and great-grandparents suffered through Nazi Hell. And it makes it worse that he was alive and still denies the facts of the Holocaust!

He should be ashamed of himself, and his country should be ashamed of him as well.
