It is special to have a Jewish shooting victim speak at the White House on a day of prayer. Listen to Chabad Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein’s powerful words.

Strength of Jewish Shooting Victim

Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein is the rabbi of the Chabad of Poway, a synagogue in San Diego. On the last day of Passover this past April 2019, evil entered his synagogue. A 19-year-old murderer walked in to kill as many Jews as possible. Just 19 years old. And he decided he would be a terrorist. How can such hatred exist? Tragically, the murderer succeeded in killing one, Lori Kaye, 60, and injuring others – including the rabbi himself and an 8 year old girl from the Israeli city of Sderot.

You would expect something like this to bring down the spirit of Rabbi Goldstein. But it did not. You can hear how strong he is through his words in this video as he speaks at the White House on the National Day of Prayer. You can hear how much he cares about his congregation and the Jewish nation at large. Such strength is only found in a hero. And Rabbi Goldstein chose to be a hero.

The Rabbi’s Appreciation for Trump

During Rabbi Goldstein’s inspiring words, he thanked President Trump. He said, “Mr. President, when you called me, I was at home weeping. You were the first person who began my healing.” It is pretty unbelievable that the president of the United States showed so much care and love for a Jewish shooting victim thousands of miles away.

Hopefully, this president will bring about a future that does not tolerate any form of antisemitism!
