Jewish Leadership Project tweeted
“Jewish organizations, @theJCPA, and the Jewish Federations abandoned 90% of Jews when they exited the @CombatASemitism Movement’s (CAM) diverse coalition. When CAM posted a video educating on woke #antisemitism, these groups fled the coalition due to their leftist political ties. It’s a disturbing sign of failed Jewish leadership when organizations refuse to defend Jews against antisemitic wokeism.
The Jewish Federations of North America and @theJCPA immediately abandoned the @CombatASemitism Movement’s wide-reaching coalition after CAM released a video educating on the dangers of Woke Antisemitism.
Failed leadership looks like abandoning a diverse Jewish coalition at the first criticism of the poisonous wokeisms that anchor these groups’ political ties. Jew haters falsely claim that Israel is a ‘white oppressor’ of the ‘brown’ Palestinians, while Israel is an ethnically and religiously diverse bastion of freedom in the Middle East.”
Take a moment to watch the video and think for yourself, is this something that those organizations should support to help protect US Jews from the growing Jew-hating antisemitism across America, or if they are justified to pull out of the CAM coalition. To me, the verdict is clear, and by pulling out of the coalition because they disagree with the video message, they have chosen to side with our enemies, and are part of the problem that Jew-hatred is growing.
Now I want to share with you an extremely eloquently written response to the Jewish organizations that pulled out of the coalition, written by Bryan Leib, Executive Director of CASEPACUSA dedicated to fighting antisemtism everywhere. Bryan tweeted the following:
“This post is in response to the backlash the @CombatASemitism has received for posting a video titled “Woke Antisemitism”.
I watched the video in its entirety. It was an educational video that did a deep dive into how being woke in America is driving some of the #Antisemitism we have in our nation.
I’m willing to bet that if this video was about far-right wing white supremacists, there wouldn’t be any outrage but because the video exposed the Antisemitism coming from the left, the outrage begins.
Several major Jewish groups have left the CAM coalition over this video.
We have a serious problem in the Jewish community in America if Jewish leaders and major Jewish organizations only want to discuss the Antisemitism coming from the right.
Here’s the truth about modern day Antisemitism in America:
Yes, there is most certainly Antisemitism coming from the right and it comes from the left as well.
Over the years, Antisemitism has evolved (not for the better) into traditional Jew Hatred, Anti-Israel and Anti-Zionism. This is described in the #IHRA working definition of Antisemitism.
The facts are that the vast majority of Anti-Israel and Anti-Zionism is coming from the left in America. I’ve never met anyone on the right who has called Israel an “apartheid nation that kills babies”. Never, not once.
Jews have been attacked at record levels in NYC for years now and the vast majority of those crimes are not committed by white supremacists – they are actually committed by the Black community under 18 years old. These attacks do not represent the Black community at large in any way shape or form but we can’t shy away from being honest about these attacks in NYC.
Jews are accused of having dual loyalties and told we cannot be proud Americans while also supporting Israel. This is not coming from the right. It’s coming from the left in Congress from @RashidaTlaib, @IlhanMN and the rest of the squad. These viewpoints are amplified by their supporters on college campuses and all throughout American culture.
It’s the left that labels Israel as an “Apartheid nation” and “the Occupier”, not the right.
The truth is Antisemitism comes from all sides, from all walks of life, from rich people and poor people, and at all times of the day. Those who hate Jews, call for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanction of Israel and spread lies about Zionism don’t care about our political affiliations, they only care about if we are Jews, if we support Israel and if we believe in Zionism.
To say that I am deeply disturbed by the action of Senior leaders of the Jewish community in response to CAM’s video is an understatement. Antisemitism is at record levels in this country right now. RECORD LEVELS.
If we, Jews, cannot band together to call out all forms of Antisemitism, how can we expect anyone from outside of our community to support us. We can’t and honestly, we aren’t deserving of their support.
Shame on those in the Jewish community who have no problem raising millions for their organizations on the backs of the Jews killed by white supremacists but remain silent when it comes from the progressive left.
I’m a proud Jew. I’m a proud American. I love Israel. I will always support Zionism.
The Jewish community needs to come together to combat all forms of Antisemitism. If we can’t then Antisemitism will continue rising and getting even worse.
It’s time for Jewish leaders to step up and lead or to get out of the way.“
This is why we recently ran the Pulse of Israel conference focused on Unmasking Jew-hatred within the palestinian national movement, to highlight this growing Jew-hating antisemitism that the establishment Jewish organizations are not only ignoring, but sometimes even actively enabling by working together with the CAIR organization, which is a US Muslim Brotherhood organization also focused on spreading Jew-hatred in the name of the palestinian national movement.
It is time for all of us to stand up and have our voices heard on this issue because the establishment Jewish organizations are failing us. We must stand up for these truths to change the conversation in order to wake people up in order to protect Jews worldwide and save lives! Jewish organizations are not doing it, so we must.
