The Israel Defense Forces, or the IDF, is known to be one of the best armies in the world. They are strong and capable. But what makes the IDF so unique and special is the soldiers’ determination to defend the Jewish people and the Jewish homeland. Israel’s enemies are not fighting for the same reason. The enemies of Israel fight to destroy. They fight out of hatred and evil intentions. The Israeli army fights so that the Israeli people can be safe and continue creating and building. They fight out of a love for their people and land. The motivation of the IDF is the opposite of the motivation of the enemies of the Jewish nation.
The Israeli army has a difficult task. Israel exists in the toughest neighborhood. For those who have never seen the map of Israel and the surrounding countries, they would be shocked to learn the truth. How do IDF soldiers put their lives on the line day in and day out? Israel constantly needs to protect its borders as well as defend itself from the enemies within the state.
