Is This The Beginning Of A New Friendship For Israel And Qatar?

Is peace bursting out all over the Middle East? Not quite. But even Qatar is making a change. If there is one thing that should be learned from the recent past, it is that things are a changin’ in the Middle East.

Why are things changing? One word – Iran. Iran’s power has become such a major factor that it has brought together implacable enemies. Several Arab countries that never had formal relations with Israel broke the ice during the Trump Administration.

United Arab Emirates was always different than other Arab countries – but not as far as Israel. But once Israel’s flourishing economy offered massive opportunity for investment and Iran emerged as the key regional threat of the Middle East, the UAE decided to hedge their bets with Israel and the West. Other countries took note.

The big question is not whether Qatar will turn into yet another peaceful country. It is whether or not Saudi Arabia will join in too. Everybody knows that that is the final domino. When that happens, it will truly be an earthquake.

Whether you support or oppose Donald Trump, his foreign policy record on the Middle East, led by Jared Kushner, was great.
