Is Israel Preparing To Invade Lebanon?

While the war rages in the south with Hamas, Israel is also fighting up North on the Lebanese border. This potential second front can truly explode at any moment and if there had not been a war with Hamas currently still in full swing, Israel would have already invaded given the amount of ordinances fired at it.

Israel has not launched a ground invasion yet, because it would mean facing the full onslaught of Hezbollah’s missiles and military while trying to fight a complex urban war in Gaza.

Despite the government’s official line that diplomacy is the preferred option to move Hezbollah north of the Litani River, Israel is under no illusions that it will ultimately take military force to push Hezbollah northward.

Although the Israeli government has not confirmed its need to wage a full scale war against Hezbollah, the French has already warned both Hezbollah and Lebanon that Israel is prepared to do so. The US may want to calm the region down, but with constant attacks by Iranian proxies like the Houthis on international shipping and Hezbollah’s intention to wipe Israel off the map, the chance that the end of the Gaza war means an end of war in the Levant, is about zero.
