With all the noise surrounding a potential Israeli strike on Iran, the IDF is continuing with preparations to invade and conquer the final Hamas military stronghold situated in Rafah.
Rafah lies on the border of Gaza and Egypt and presents a serious multilayered challenge to the IDF. Israeli troops will be tasked with not only defeating the final Hamas battalions, but locating and rescuing the remaining hostages as well as securing the Philadelphi corridor that runs the length of the Gaza-Egypt border.
Knowing that Sinwar and Deif are most likely hiding out well beneath the ground in Rafah, Israelis have been united in the need to enter the city and finish the job. Rumors have been swirling on Israel’s trade of a serious strike against Iran and in its place get the USA to turn the other way when the IDF enters Rafah.
A few weeks ago, the government came under fire for seemingly pulling out a division from the Khan Yunis area because it appeared that Israel was prepared to stop fighting. We now know thatthe 98th was pulled out to give it rest, while others entered in.
With the world distracted and finally seeing how dangerous Iran truly is – Rafah might finally be a go.
