A Brave Message to Israel
Wow is all there is to say. If you heard Tzvika Mor speaking but didn’t know that he was the father of one of the hostages being held in Gaza by Hamas, you wouldn’t have any idea. His strength is remarkable. His faith is mind-blowing. And his message is clear: Releasing terrorists in exchange for hostages creates more danger for the Jewish people.
That’s not to say that we aren’t happy beyond words for those hostages who have returned home to their loved ones. But it’s not so simple. Yahya Sinwar was released in the Gilad Shalit deal. And Sinwar was the mastermind of the October 7 massacre against the Jewish people.
Mor knows that Hamas must be destroyed. If we get our hostages back and leave Hamas intact, then what? Then we will find ourselves in the same situation over and over again. Enough! We can’t leave terrorists roaming around to murder us!
But another extremely important message is his message about the strength and eternity of the people of Israel. We are not going anywhere. Hamas doesn’t seem to get it. We are G-d’s chosen people. We have survived countless persecutions and exiles. We have survived oppression and suffering. And here we are back in our homeland, strong and determined to carry out G-d’s will. The Jewish people bring morality and light to the world. May it always be that way!
