Where is the Ark? There are several different ideas as to where it is located. One idea is that it somehow ended up in Ethiopia. But a different version claims that the secret hiding place is underneath the Holy of the Holies. Today, the foundation stone is located there – right underneath the Dome of the Rock.

According to this documentary, two great Rabbis in Israel, Rabbi Shlomo Goren and Rabbi Getz seem to clearly believe – as of 1982 – that they saw the Ark of the Covenant underneath the Dome of the Rock. Where? Right underneath the Dome of the Rock. Could that be true? Pretty amazing stuff.

Six Day War & The Temple

Israel liberated the Temple Mount and the Western Wall below on the 3rd and 4th days of the Six Day War. It was not part of plan of the Army or of the government. Israel was more focused on survival, and certainly not on the ramifications of a lightning victory. But Israel found itself with the unbelievable surprise of the holiest place in the world to the Jewish people reunited with the people. For 19 years, the Jordanian occupation stood between the Jewish people and it’s most hallowed site. One would think that the Jewish people would clean up the Temple Mount and immediately begin with the rebuilding of the Temple. However, the Minister of Defense, Moshe Dayan gave clear orders to leave the keys to the Dome of the Rock to the Waqf – the Arab religious leaders who ran the area. This may have been one of the most fateful decisions of the war. It led to a constant struggle that continues till today. Is the presence of the Ark beneath the Holy area perhaps symbolic of the fact that the world is not yet ready for the revelation of the Ark.
