Gaza terrorists succeeded in cutting through the Gaza/Israel border fence last night. They infiltrated into Israel and burned down an IDF sniper outpost that was empty. In retaliation, the IDF Air Force destroyed a Hamas terror tunnel and some naval boats.
Destroying IDF Outpost
No country can allow border infiltrations by an enemy force. Especially if they are intent on killing you. These terrorists were lucky no IDF soldiers were on duty at that location. Otherwise, they would have shot them on the spot. After burning the IDF outpost, they then ran back into Gaza.
Israeli Airforce Retaliates
Israel will not allow such aggression to go unpunished. In retaliation, the IDF sent planes to bomb a Hamas terror tunnel. In addition, they bombed some Hamas boats preparing to take part in a flotilla protest of the siege on Gaza.

Additionally, the strikes were carried out in response to the ongoing attempts to dispatch drones and kites, with the intention of conducting terrorist activity and setting Israeli territory on fire.
