It’s not just Facebook. It’s all of the big tech companies. There is massive collusion to censor the right wing political arguments from social media. Facebook, Twitter, and other big tech companies are businesses. But the power that they wield is much greater than many countries.

The high point of the cancel culture came right after the riot at the Capitol. Donald Trump, the President of the United States, was kicked off of Twitter and Facebook. But, this was not much of a surprise for those who have followed the news over the last few years. It was an inevitability. It was just a question of when.

The 2016 election of Donald Trump was seen as the original sin of the social media companies. It was a wrong that needed to be corrected through whatever censorship was necessary. Towards the end of the 2020 election, the power of the social media companies was felt as Twitter began to label tweets of President Trump. Facebook controlled the flow of information and made sure that very little was seen that proved that Joe Biden did not have the cognitive ability to serve as the President.

But now that the more radical side of the right wing rioted at the Capitol, egged on by President Trump, the cancel culture has gone into high gear. The attacks on nearly anybody that is right wing are in the process of becoming mainstream. Candace Owens deserves much credit for making a strong stand against the culture of silencing that Big Tech has adopted.
