Whatsapp“If only Israel would leave Gaza….” That is how left-wing Israelis began their arguments for a few decades against Israel’s continued presence in Gush Katif – what is now referred to as Gaza. The assumption was that it is easier to defend from the outside than from the inside. Better a strong fence between enemies than a seemingly never ending occupation.
Toda, it has become abundantly clear that leaving Gaza in the hands of the Arabs, what was cheered on by America and so many others as a brave move by Israel, was the creation of a massive terror-State that would threaten more than 50% of Israel’s population.
When a house has a termite problem, creating a wall between the source of the termites and one’s housemay indeed put a temporary stop between the termites and the house. But, the termites will continue to spread and build more and more tunnels that go under the wall. If they still want to get across the barrier, they will succeed.
The Arabs in Gaza never wanted self-determination and freedom from the Jewish State. They said it loud and clear – they want to destroy the Jewish State. All Israel accomplished by walking away from Gaza is the creation of a do-whatever-you-want to facilitate the Arab terror machine. The wall was penetrable in multiple ways, including minor explosives that broke openings in the wall.
The only solution to Israel living in security in the Middle East is when Israel is solely in control of their own security.
